The Role You'll Play
The legal team is a group of professionals who serve as trusted advisors, providing comprehensive legal support to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and drive business objectives. We also play a vital role in shaping ethical company policies and initiatives. With a deep understanding of the technology industry and its unique legal challenges, our team combines legal expertise with a forward-thinking mindset. The Corporate Counsel is a hard-working team player with at least 7 years of experience advising fast-paced tech companies on SaaS and other technology agreements. This role will focus on drafting and negotiating customer and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, and mitigating legal risks associated with SaaS transactions. Strong candidates will have expertise in contract law, a proven track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholder teams, and precise written and verbal communication skills.
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on contracts
- Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to the commercial aspects of our products and programs
- Educate the business on key commercial, legal, and corporate policy and other considerations
- Facilitate timely closure of transactions while minimizing risk exposure
- Review marketing materials and provide guidance on product requirements
- Identify, escalate within the business, and mitigate risks and liabilities
- Advise business teams in a variety of domestic and international locations
- Provide legal support for other departments and initiatives as required
- Other duties assigned
Skills & experience
- At least 7 years of relevant legal experience, including 4+ years working in house, ideally in the software industry
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Experience leading complex contract negotiations
- Ability to drive and project manage cross-functional projects with business teams and other members of the legal team (regulatory, product, privacy, etc.) to ensure business needs are met
- Big picture thinking, strong business acumen, and practical approach to legal challenges
- Experience advising clients and managing projects on deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies and associated legal issues
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to clearly and concisely communicate with executives and a diverse array of internal stakeholders
- Comfort with juggling competing priorities and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment
- Excels at working independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to take on matters outside your primary practice areas and comfort with other legal team members leading matters that touch on your practice areas; overlap is inevitable
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours when necessary to complete a project
- Willingness and openness to give and receive feedback

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
The base salary range for this position in the United States is $151,275 - $201,700. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
