The Role You’ll Play:You’ll lead the charge on global payroll at Playlist, ensuring every team member gets paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance - no matter where they work. As Director of Payroll, you’ll shape and scale our international payroll strategy, driving automation, precision, and partnership across teams. You’ll influence how we operate globally and bring clarity to complex processes in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

  • Lead global payroll execution across multiple countries with accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
  • Design and evolve a payroll strategy that aligns with business goals and international growth plans
  • Build streamlined, scalable processes through automation and tech-forward solutions
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to solve complex, country-specific payroll challenges
  • Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance and financial integrity
  • Champion a culture of operational excellence, leading and mentoring a high-performing payroll team
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits to seamlessly deliver equity, incentive, and salary programs
  • Stay ahead of regulatory shifts and new tech to elevate our payroll systems and strategies continually

Experience You Bring:

  • 10+ years leading U.S. and global payroll operations with a deep understanding of compliance and reporting requirements
  • Proven success scaling payroll functions and introducing automation or system upgrades across regions
  • Strong knowledge of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting standards (SOX familiarity a plus)
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and navigating complex payroll laws across multiple jurisdictions
  • Familiar with Dayforce or other enterprise payroll platforms
  • Trusted leader with sharp strategic instincts and the ability to motivate and coach others
  • Confident communicator and cross-functional collaborator who thrives in global, matrixed environments
  • Flexible, curious mindset with a readiness to pivot and prioritize as business needs evolve

Pay Transparency

It is Playlist's intent to pay all Team Members competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair, and equitable. The goal of Playlist’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The base salary range for this position in the United States is $140,300 to $175,300. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
