About Clarium

At Clarium, we’re building AI solutions that improve the healthcare supply chain. Our products leverage cutting-edge AI—including advanced computer vision—to simplify inventory management and support clinicians and supply chain managers. We aim to not only address logistical challenges but also lighten the daily workload of healthcare professionals, freeing them to focus on patient care. Join our team, and you’ll be building technology that truly impacts healthcare, enhancing both efficiency and human connection in a field where it matters most.

Funding

We’re backed by some of the biggest and most innovative investors in the world, including General Catalyst, AlleyCorp, 1984 Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and others.

About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer with a focus on Computer Vision at Clarium, you will collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performance ML applications that improve healthcare supply chain operations through data-driven insights. You will play a central role in integrating state-of-the-art computer vision techniques—such as image recognition, object detection, and visual feature extraction—into our existing systems while remaining involved in other core ML initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and refine computer vision algorithms and tools for tasks like object detection, image segmentation, and anomaly detection to optimize healthcare inventory management.
  • Research and implement broader ML solutions spanning predictive analytics, risk stratification, and natural language processing (including large language models).
  • Work alongside engineering and data teams to select suitable data representations, especially for visual data.
  • Conduct machine learning experiments, including dataset augmentation and performance benchmarking for computer vision pipelines.
  • Perform statistical analysis of model outputs, tuning and fine-tuning approaches, and prompt engineering for maximizing performance across various ML domains.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in computer vision, deep learning, and ML technologies, sharing insights and contributing to company thought leadership.
  • Engage with implementation and deployment teams to optimize the solution in supply chain inventory areas in the Healthcare environment.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in computer vision and deep learning.
  • Proven skills across:
  • Computer Vision: experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV, as well as familiarity with techniques for image recognition, segmentation, object detection (e.g., YOLO, Faster R-CNN), and transformer-based vision models.
  • AI & ML: large language models, prompt engineering (chain-of-thought prompting, instruction-tuning), fine-tuning, LangChain, OpenAI CLI, Model Zoos, NLP, vector databases, semantic search, retrieval augmented generation, transformers, and AI explainability.
  • Cloud Computing, Data Warehousing & Deployment: AWS, GCP, and Azure; MLOps; Databricks, delta lake, Spark, MLFlow; containerization, virtual private clouds, infrastructure-as-code.
  • Foundational: statistical modeling and inference, time series analysis and predictive modeling; supervised learning; data mining, model evaluation, feature selection, and dimensionality reduction.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deploy computer vision models at scale, preferably in cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
