What you'll do

We're looking for a Security Engineer. At Clara, security is not just a department—it is a core pillar of our trust with customers. As a lead in this space, you will be responsible for proactively securing our infrastructure and defending against sophisticated cyber threats. You will be the shield that prevents, detects, and neutralizes threats in real time.

In this role, you will run an in-house Security Operations Center (SOC), conduct continuous offensive security testing, and ensure our systems remain hardened against the evolving threat landscape. You’ll collaborate closely with our infrastructure teams to bake security into our CI/CD pipelines and maintain a robust posture across our AWS environments. Your goal is to stay one step ahead of attackers by building resilient security plans and executing real-world red team simulations.


Who you are

Must haves

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure security, or offensive security (red teaming, pentesting, or SOC leadership).

  • Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS) and container security.

  • Proficiency in SIEM tools (such as Splunk, ELK Stack, or Wazuh) and log analysis.

  • Proven experience with offensive security tools and threat hunting methodologies.

  • Working proficiency in English and Portuguese.

  • Experience or interest in AI tools to automate security workflows and incident response.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt to fast-changing environments.

  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python or Bash) to streamline security monitoring.

Nice to haves

  • Industry certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, or CEH.

  • Knowledge of reverse engineering and malware analysis.

  • Independent analytical skills using SQL or Python.

  • Experience working in the banking or fintech industries, specifically with PCI-DSS or ISO 27001.

  • Basic proficiency in Spanish or a desire to learn it.

  • A good sense of humor.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy

Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.

We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
