Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Behavior Change and Design will radically improve healthcare by leading the development and design of products, services, and engagement experiences that drive behavior change while making frontline jobs easier and improving member health outcomes. You will be part of a team working at the intersection of art and science; collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders; and play a key role in executing strategies for the business. You will take ownership of developing and implementing new engagement strategies that support members and the business.

  • This role is an advanced individual contributor role that generates data-driven business insights to shape engagement strategy, leverages those insights to seed new initiatives and crossfunctional experiments (projects could include engagement tests leveraging SMS, mail, phone call, and digital channels; workforce experiments such as prototyping a new QA concept, and more), and drives a portfolio of tests and special initiatives to drive member behavior change and engagement. . The role partners with operations, marketing, clinical and product teams to scale successful initiatives, provides actionable insights from experiments, and collaborates with stakeholders to improve engagement strategy and identify broader business impacts.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns and incubates a portfolio of new engagement strategies, pilots and experiments to drive member engagement. This includes prototyping, testing, and evaluating the impact of pilot strategies

  • Creates business cases using qualitative and quantitative data, establishing stage gates and metrics to make data-driven decisions on new engagement interventions.

  • Leads ideation sessions to prioritize high-ROI experiment concepts and design measurement strategies, ensuring integrity and alignment with outcomes.

  • Leads early stage service discovery for select initiatives to help map out end to end strategy with emphasis on what members and our care teams are seeing, thinking, feeling and doing

  • Provides regular performance updates on in-flight experiments/initiatives and synthesizes results into actionable insights for leaders.

  • Partners with operations, marketing, clinical and product teams to scale successful pilot initiatives and identifies broader business impacts to ensure strong performance at steady state

  • Partner with others in the Behavior Change & Design team to identify how to leverage AI to improve our processes and where it can have breakthrough impact on engagement strategies

  • Stay abreast of the growing evidence base around behavioral science and engagement/care design and delivery, assess quality of findings and relevance to Cityblock’s programs and operations

  • Conduct light weight research with members and lookalikes to shape strategies

Work Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience driving business and/or research results

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects with ability to inspire a wide range of colleagues from senior executives to junior associates supporting projects

  • 1+ year demonstrated experience applying behavioral science and behavioral design frameworks to improve outcomes in an area related to well being (healthcare, financial services, wellness, literacy, education, civic engagement, etc.) with ability to have thoughtful conversations on topics like COM-B, loss/gain frames, incentives, social norms, and present bias’

  • Experience analyzing complex qualitative and quantitative data from internal and external sources and using it to create business cases that guide data driven decision-making

  • Proficiency with Looker, SQL and other analytical tools with appetite to deepen knowledge and use of these tools

  • Familiarity with a variety of testing protocols and impact evaluation frameworks (A/B testing, randomized and quasi-randomized tests, etc.)

  • Strong executive presence with ability to develop relationships with senior leaders, peers, and cross-functional team members as required;

  • Comfort operating in a fast paced growth environment

  • Natural storyteller with the ability to distill key insights and take-aways from complex data and develop compelling visuals (including in powerpoint or google slides) to influence stakeholders

  • Strong project management skills for complex, cross-functional projects with ability to concurrently manage multiple high-impact projects with high-degree of autonomy

  • High empathy with ability to build connections with our members, outreach teams and care teams, along with demonstrated experience and comfort engaging with vulnerable populations

  • Enjoys high growth environment where collaboration and attention to detail are crucial for success

Education:

  • Master's degree

This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:

Up to $163,000.00
