Job Description:

The Senior Experience Designer at Cityblock works across product, process, and people to develop tech-enabled service experiences that keep our members healthy and our frontline focused on member care. You’ll have the opportunity to exercise continuous innovation and a bias for evidence-based action, coupled with thoughtful experimentation. This role involves conducting research with members, care teams, and internal business stakeholders and applying user-centered and behavioral design principles to create intuitive, accessible, and visually cohesive healthcare products. The Senior Experience Designer collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop service blueprints, wireframes, product and service prototypes, and interactive designs, ensuring seamless user experiences and alignment with healthcare industry standards. The designer will also support team-wide capabilities such as our accessibility strategy and design system.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Experience Designer will radically improve healthcare by leading the development and design of products, services, and experiences that drive behavior change while making users’ jobs easier and improving member health outcomes. You will be part of a team working at the intersection of art and science; collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in product management, engineering, clinical, member experience, and operations while playing a key role in executing strategies for the business. You will take ownership of leveraging product design to improve the impact of end-to-end service experiences.

  • Leverage hands-on design expertise in combination with GenAI tools to create high-fidelity mockups, working prototypes, service blueprints, and detailed design specifications, partnering with engineering, product management and operations to ensure successful development of designs. You’ll iterate with feedback from members, care team users, other BCD designers, and other internal operational stakeholders.

  • Conduct service and product discovery and size opportunities based on qualitative and quantitative research with members and users and lightweight data collection/analysis (e.g. fielding surveys, running basic analytics, etc.). Synthesize your findings to prioritize areas of design focus.

  • Virtually and in person interview/observe members, care team users, and other stakeholders and user test lo-fi screens and prototypes, using findings to iterate on your designs.

  • Partner with operations, member experience and other Behavior Change & Design colleagues to run service experiments to inform where and how technology can have the greatest impact

  • Analyze UX data from Pendo and other sources to inform your design hypotheses and validate impact after release

  • Incorporate external behavior change evidence and behavioral designb approaches into your product design process

  • Set and deliver against data driven user experience goals

  • Design intuitive, user-friendly interactions for healthcare applications, ensuring seamless navigation and usability within complex healthcare workflows.

  • Think in code (HTML/CSS, JS, React) and collaborate closely with engineering to ensure your UX expertise and front end vision has the most impact possible as quickly as possible

  • Develops visually appealing and cohesive design elements that align with brand identity and industry standards for healthcare products.

  • Collaborates with product managers, developers, operations teams, member experience colleagues, clinicians and healthcare professionals to define project goals and integrate design efforts with development.

  • Ensures compliance with accessibility standards and advocate for inclusive design practices that address the needs of diverse users.

  • Creates and maintains design documentation, including specifications and style guides, while continuously learning and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.

  • Contributes to design system improvements

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a focus on healthcare products.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:

Up to $130k
