Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support:

    • Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility

    • Oversee maintenance of medical inventory and placement of orders in partnership with Operations Manager.

    • Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, examinations, and treatments.

    • Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider.

    • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures as needed.

  • Outreach and patient panel management

    • Outreach / engage members to schedule provider visits for annual visits, discharge follow up, chronic disease management, addressing HEDIS gaps

  • Supervision and Training:

    • Provide guidance and supervision to medical assistants, ensuring that they adhere to established protocols and standards.

    • Train new medical assistants on clinical procedures and office protocols.

  • Patient Care Coordination:

    • Coordinate patient care activities, including scheduling appointments, obtaining referrals, and ensuring timely communication between patients and healthcare providers.

    • Coordinate patient referrals and engagement with Cityblock care teams as needed.

    • Serve as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information.

  • Clinical Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including entering information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.

    • Ensure proper documentation of medical procedures, treatments, and patient interactions.

    • Oversee consistency and quality of documentation of all medical assistants

  • Medical Equipment Management:

    • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper use of medical equipment.

    • Manage the inventory of medical supplies and medications, reordering as needed.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Complete pre- and post- visit chart prep for provider visits; ensuring all quality and patient outcome metrics are elevated for providers to address.

    • Oversee and improve quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards for all medical assistants.

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.

  • Specialized Procedures:

    • Perform specialized clinical procedures as trained and authorized, such as minor surgical procedures, wound care, or diagnostic imaging.

  • Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with Operations Manager, healthcare providers, nurses, and other support staff to optimize patient care and enhance the overall functioning of the medical office.

    • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

  • Professional Development:

    • Stay informed about industry trends, changes in medical procedures, and updates in healthcare regulations.

    • Attend relevant training sessions and pursue opportunities for professional development.

  • Must be able to translate medical lingo into layman's terms for the member

  • Expertise around taking vitals (blood pressure, height, weight, EKG), capturing medical history, clinical documentation, conducting triage.

  • Understanding of how to use an EHR system (especially the systems used by Cityblock in this market)

  • Comfortable completing administrative tasks/duties

  • Prior experience working as a full-time medical assistant. Graduation Certification from either an accredited Medical Assistant Program OR Phlebotomy/EKG certifications.

  • Ability to travel by car for job responsibilities.

Job Requirements

  • Education

    • Graduation Certification from either an accredited Medical Assistant Program OR Phlebotomy/EKG certifications or LPN certification required

    • HS Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree Preferred)

  • Experience

    • 3+ years of experience working in a clinical operations setting

  • Travel

    • Able to travel by car for in home or hub activities as needed

    • Willingness to work in hub or travel and conduct home based visits as needed

The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:

Compensation Range: Medical Assistants - 2B $26.48 $29.42 $32.37 (NC)
