What you'll be responsible for:
You will define and drive the long-term product strategy for the CPN Payments Engine — the foundational infrastructure that powers payment creation, routing, settlement, and lifecycle management across Circle’s global network.
You will operate as the end-to-end owner of payment execution across corridors and rails, shaping how the system evolves to support scale, resilience, and new financial use cases. This includes setting the vision for reliability, performance, and extensibility, and leading cross-functional efforts to translate that vision into measurable improvements in throughput, latency, and network success rates. You will also influence adjacent systems and partner integrations to ensure the Payments Engine operates as a cohesive, high-performing platform across the ecosystem.
What you'll bring to Circle:
Core requirements:
- 8+ years of Product Management experience in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure
- Experience owning complex platform or infrastructure products such as payment engines, settlement systems, or distributed processing systems
- Demonstrated ability to define and drive strategy for ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces with company-level implications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose systemic issues in payment flows and drive data-informed decisions; proficiency with SQL or equivalent
- Track record of delivering step-function improvements in system reliability, performance, or scalability
- Experience influencing architecture and working deeply with Engineering on trade-offs and system design
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and external partners
- Ability to operate seamlessly from strategic vision to hands-on execution, including writing detailed product and technical specifications
- Clear and structured communicator, capable of aligning senior stakeholders and driving decision-making
Preferred requirements:
- Experience with global payments networks, settlement systems, or financial infrastructure (e.g., cross-border payments, correspondent banking, stablecoins)
- Deep understanding of two-sided network dynamics and marketplace liquidity challenges
- Experience building compliance-forward systems where regulatory requirements shape product and system design
- Expertise in API product management for enterprise or developer-facing platforms
- Familiarity with payment lifecycle events, failure taxonomy, and large-scale operational tooling for monitoring and exception handling
This role is based in our Bangalore office and requires employees to work from the office on a regular basis.
