The Director, Product Management will be accountable for end-to-end lifecycle management and commercialization of the Cellanome R3200 platform. Reporting to the SVP, Marketing & Strategy, this role works with cross-functional teams to define & develop products, create launch strategies, build launch plans, and deliver product experience that will delight customers. As part of the marketing team, this role contributes to outbound marketing content, campaigns, and supports customers and KOLs to ensure their success and showcase the use of Cellanome products. Strong candidates for this role will possess a good understanding of current cell biology, genomic and single cell methods as well as trends in the competitive landscape.

This is an on-site role to be based in either our Foster City, CA or San Diego, CA offices.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Product management: The position will focus on instruments and core consumables, working closely with development to deliver market-leading products and a delightful product experience, and with field teams to drive successful product launches & business case achievement.
  • User needs & trade-offs: Define, prioritize and communicate user needs, marketing requirements, and value propositions; partner across the core team on technical trade-off decisions.
  • Strategy & planning: Work with key stakeholders to develop & refine product roadmaps, and pricing, competitive and GTM strategies.
  • Be a champion for our customers, representing their needs within the organization; Keep a close pulse on global customer, market & competitive dynamics.
  • Launches & Ramp to Volume: Plan, lead and execute successful product launches. Drive and support market development activities to enhance market adoption, working with KOLs, societies and conferences to showcase scientific impact.
  • Field Training: Train field teams and support selling activities, including development of sales tools and collateral.
  • Customer relationship management: Lead and facilitate product field testing, partner across the org to support customer collaborations.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of working time away from work location, including overnight/weekend travel at time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 18 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 15 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 12 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of managing successful products in the life science tools space, including experience with multiple successful launches.
  • Data driven approach: Use business savvy and quantitative information to advocate for the customer, drive good business decisions and enhance product experience.
  • Technical expertise: Ability to become a customer and product expert for customers and sales staff and internal stakeholders.
  • Influence & Credibility: Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority, and to work effectively with customers, development, and field teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with single-cell or genomic research workflows, either through scientific training or prior product roles.
  • Experience launching integrated hardware-software systems.
  • Experience managing and developing a small team of product managers.
  • Curiosity and initiative in leveraging AI tools to enhance personal and team productivity.
  • New product line and/or early growth company experience.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $240,000/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
