Reporting to the Senior Director, Singapore Engineering and Operations, the Sr. Technician will work with Engineering and Operations team members to carry out factory operation duties and perform various tests to qualify instruments for shipment.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Support manufacturing operations with a focus on laboratory-based work by testing instruments using biological assays and other system level tests.
- Operation and testing of biological samples using various analytical laboratory equipment such as fluorometer, electrophoresis system, etc.
- Perform other instrument functional tests which may include alignment and calibration work, using standard and customized tools and software.
- Execute work instructions and procedures, including product quality control procedures, incoming and outgoing inspection, packaging, data collection, and analysis.
- Complete Device History Records (DHRs) accurately in a timely manner to ensure compliance with manufacturing and quality standards.
- Supporting the development and improvement of manufacturing documents.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support troubleshooting and failure analysis of instrument performance issues.
- Support 6S, process improvement, and Lean initiatives.
- Ability to list up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms) for approximately 5% of typical working day.
- Ability to pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to comply with personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel at times. Occasional travel to Cellanome US offices in San Francisco Bay Area may be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working with lab equipment, tools and instrumentation in a manufacturing setting.
- Hands-on experience with molecular biological techniques, especially workflows involving PCR, cDNA purification, and quantification.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and good documentation practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to read and understand English instruction manuals.
- Ability to document test results, including nonconformances, in compliance with manufacturing and quality standards.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and experience.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimum guidance as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with imaging systems and complex instrumentation production in the life sciences, biotech and/or biomedical industries.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
In Singapore, the estimated base salary range for this position is $45,000 SGD - $62,000 SGD/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
