We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician II to join the team. This role will play an important part in manufacturing and delivering key consumable components of our novel life science instrument platform. The Technician will work under the guidance of Engineers/Scientists in the team to bring this key consumable product to market.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform various chemistry, QC and mechanical processes on consumable components in a manufacturing cleanroom environment.
- Support the mechanical assembly, kitting, labeling, and packaging of consumable components and final products in a manufacturing environment.
- Support the build (for both production and R&D purposes) of consumables with guidance from engineers as needed.
- Adhere to production schedules to meet the desired delivery targets.
- Follow work instructions and execute batch records for various consumable components.
- Perform routine lab maintenance duties (lab cleaning, kanban organization, etc.) following standard procedures to keep a clean manufacturing environment.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control policies including equipment maintenance, consumable dispositions, and general lab practices.
- Propose new ideas and initiatives, and work with engineers to improve MFG workflow and processes.
- Support internal teams to run development experiments and other related duties as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs for approximately 15% of typical working day.
- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to comply with personal protective equipment requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing technician working on consumable operations.
- Previous working experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow standard procedures / working instructions and enter data / info on a web-based batch record system.
- Detail oriented with strong communication skills and ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous working experience in applying chemistry onto consumable substrate.
- Ability to use various types of pipettes (manual, multi-channel, and/or electronic).
- Previous working experience in consumable assembly, kitting, and packaging.
- Previous working experience in an ISO/cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with Excel and Word for documenting results and data analysis
- Previous working experience with manufacturing ERP system.
We provide competitive total compensation packages, including base pay, benefits, and equity. In California, the estimated base salary range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
