Job Summary:

  • Location: Euston, London
  • Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office

We’re looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Procurement Assistant to support the Procurement Manager in delivering procurement services covering a group of subcategories across the business. You will work in partnership with various stakeholders to apply best practice commercial approach in managing the entire procurement lifecycle in order to deliver value and quality in procuring goods and services.

As the Procurement Assistant, you will have the opportunity to lead projects in a fast-paced business including system implementations and business improvements. This opportunity will enable you to gain excellent knowledge of the business and apply a modern approach to procurements to ensure finance and general operations objectives are met efficiently.

About this role and the impact you will have:

  • Managing end to end tendering and sourcing (RFQ/RFP) in line with group procurement policy/ processes. Activity will include low, medium and some high risk including strategic projects across categories.
  • Identify, deliver, and execute cost savings within new and existing tenders/contracts.
  • Reviewing and scoring suppliers, supplier vetting and assessing any compliance risks.
  • Creating contracts within Cazoo’s contract management portal in line with tender specification, finance, and commercial objectives.
  • Implementing, monitoring, and reviewing suppliers through effective SLA/KPIs.
  • Reviewing and completing supplier application forms, NDAs and any other onboarding forms.
  • Negotiating contracts and tenders with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Accessing procurements/commercial negotiations and escalating to the procurement manager when required.
  • Apply best practices and procedures within corporate social responsibility, statutory requirements within procurement /commercial activity.
  • Supporting the procurement manager with acquisitions, tendering, due diligence, and any other procurement/finance ad-hoc tasks required.

Skills and experience required:

  • Relevant technical procurement knowledge and experience, such as requests for quotes/proposals, basic tendering, and ways of delivering procurement services.
  • Previous experience applying procurement controls internally.
  • Good understanding of the procurement lifecycle from marketing and testing, to supplier management.
  • Solid understanding of undertaking due diligence and vetting suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal competencies and effective written and verbal communication, negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to work across varied complex projects at a pace displaying solid planning, organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to help build strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to collate, analyse and present procurement risks, financial, market supplier data along with efficient recommendations.
  • Confidently challenge the business where there are risks within procurements/contracts and establish simple and effective solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office and experience in utilising procurement systems and automation.
