Job summary:

You will be responsible for overseeing the Wheel Specialist team ensuring they achieve targets & business objectives as directed by the Site Operations Manager.

  • Hours: Full Time 40.25 Hours per week MON-SUN (5/5/4 Shift Pattern)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing a productive team including monitoring sickness, absence along with performing performance reviews and highlighting training needs to drive capability of the team.
  • Willingness to be proactive & carry out all the tasks below and cover any role if required.
  • To remove the required wheel ready for refinishing as instructed by our internal systems.
  • To remove the tyre if it is a diamond cut wheel.
  • Prepare the wheels for diamond cutting and or painting as per the detailed instruction, using appropriate tools.
  • Where appropriate use the shot-blaster to key-up the alloy wheel.
  • Where appropriate use the orbital sander to remove small chips/scuffs in the alloy wheel.
  • Prepare the wheel for painting/lacquering using the shrink-wrap to protect the tyres on non-diamond cut wheels.
  • Update internal systems on each stage of the wheels refurbishment process.
  • Balance every wheel prior to refitting back to the vehicle.
  • Ensure the wheel nuts have been torqued to the recommended settings.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy working area at all times.
  • Attend all training programmes as necessary and when instructed.
  • Adhere to any and all other duties as and when required by senior company managers that are reasonably within your capabilities and are aimed at achieving the Company’s objectives and goals.
  • Be responsible for best practice and repair methods for the wheel refurb process.
  • Evaluating the necessary route for vehicles into the workshop teams and distributing work to the correct department within the workshop.
  • Distributing and controlling the allocation of jobs to the workshop team to maximise quality and overall efficiency.
  • Monitoring completion dates and over age/late cases and update daily.
  • Monitor the workshop KPI’s and completion targets.

Required skills and experience:

  • Full Driving Licence Required.
  • Well developed people management and leadership skills, gained in team leadership roles.
  • A customer first mindset.
  • A resourceful problem solver who loves a challenge and can work under pressure.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn from challenges and constantly push boundaries.
  • Flexibility & proactive approach.
