Job Summary:

You will lead the risk and compliance agenda across our range of retail consumer services, including car financing, motor insurance and other services. In addition, you will be responsible for other day-to-day risk and compliance areas of the business including:

• Risk register planning
• Listed company risk disclosure
• Bottom-up risk management
• Advertising standards compliance
• Consumer protection compliance
• FCA compliance
• Anti-bribery and anti-fraud

About this role and the impact you will have:

• Work across Cazoo to ensure compliance matters are appropriately identified, proposing and agreeing actions required to mitigate key risks.
• Build and develop an appropriate risk management framework for the company
• Manage the company’s response to day to day issues inc business continuity, environmental management and IT disaster recovery
• Lead the company's response to consumer fraud risks. Manage the policies and procedures on fraud, bribery and corruption.
• Provide advice and support that enables informed decision-making that reflects regulatory requirements and risks.
• Lead risk and compliance function effectively. Support, coach and develop the Compliance Manager and Fraud Analyst.
• Build, implement and maintain an effective compliance framework through which risks can be identified and managed and Cazoo can ensure it meets regulatory requirements and expectations.
• Provide guidance and advice on compliance with key regulatory rules and principles applicable to Cazoo whilst enhancing and maintaining an effective risk management culture, overseeing delivery of training and awareness activities where required.
• Represent compliance at relevant meetings and with third party partners and regulators as necessary.
• Retain up to date knowledge of all applicable UK legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and best practice that have the potential to impact Cazoo.
• Maintain network of relevant external relationships to assist in understanding of trends and developments within risk and compliance.

Key skills and experience required:

• Strong expertise on building and development risk management solutions.
• Strong technical background of FCA and other regulatory requirements across Consumer Credit, Insurance and online retail products.
• Strong understanding of compliance and risk management frameworks (i.e. operational, conduct, financial, data protection and information security).
• Good understanding of relevant UK legislation, codes of practice and industry guidelines affecting Cazoo.
• Strong communications skills, both orally and in writing.
• Practical approach to problem solving which balances commercial and regulatory objectives.
• Ability to form close working relationships across the business and influence management and stakeholders.
• Highly motivated individual with the ability to work successfully in a dynamic, fast moving start-up environment.
• Independence of mind and approach.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent with significant Compliance and/or Risk experience gained within a relevant regulated consumer business.

Qualifications:

• Risk Management or Compliance qualification (CeMap/FPC or equivalent) (nice to have)
