The VP of Sales is responsible for leading and managing the sales team within the Northeast region by setting a clear territory strategy, building strong customer relationships and developing high performing sales talent. This role requires strategic planning, effective team management, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to drive sales growth and profitability.
What You'll Do:
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Create and deploy a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s overall objectives
- Stay informed on market trends and customer needs to identify high potential business opportunities and areas for expansion
- Ensure that teams are following the predetermined sales process to deliver consistent revenue growth
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Manage a team of industry-focused Sales Directors to ensure optimal territory management and resourcing
- Help recruit, train, and develop high potential team members
- Set clear performance metrics and provide feedback and coaching
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, discuss strategy, and address challenges
- Executive Relationship Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level customers
- Support team members in meetings with key stakeholders at target accounts
- Reporting, Forecasting and Cadence Management:
- Prepare and present regular sales insights, forecasts, and performance analysis to executive leadership team
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and customer interactions
- Oversee a consistent meeting cadence to hold the sales team accountable to KPIs, identify areas for improvements, problem solve against challenges and understand resources required to reach target goals
The expectation for the role is that this individual is available to come into the Boston office on an (at least) monthly basis.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 15+ years of experience in sales, consulting or relevant industry
- Graduate degree preferred but not required
- Experience leading and scaling a sales team, ideally in the professional services space
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to engage clients at all levels
- Thrive in a highly-entrepreneurial, cross, and demanding environment
- Experience in building cross-functional relationships and partnerships
