Graphic Design Intern - Summer 2026

Castelion is seeking a driven, curious, and highly capable Graphic Design Intern to join our Brand Studio for Summer 2026. You'll be part of an in-house design team looking to change how aerospace and defense companies visually define themselves.

You'll work alongside experienced designers, marketers, and engineers who translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visuals that reflect the precision of what we build.

What You'll Do

Design & Production:

  • Create and edit visual assets across multiple channels: social media, web, presentations, event collateral, and marketing materials
  • Produce high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines
  • Maintain consistency across assets using Castelion's visual system and brand standards

Brand Studio Collaboration

  • Work closely with the art director and graphic design team in creative brainstorming sessions for market campaigns, collateral, and internal design needs
  • Help translate brand strategy into practical, scalable design outputs

Basic Qualifications

  • Current Student/Recent Grad: Candidate is currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a graphic design, fine arts, or communications degree program.
  • Proficiency in Design Software: Overall proficiency with the Adobe programs especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong time management with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Design Knowledge: Understanding of mid-century modern aesthetics, and current marketing trends, particularly in merchandise design.
  • Communication: Ability to follow direction and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Online Portfolio: Projects should show a foundational understanding of design, layout, and branding.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Illustration Skills: Experience creating original illustrations or custom graphics to support design projects.
  • Motion & Multimedia Tools: Working knowledge or experience with Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Autodesk Maya, or Unreal Engine for motion graphics, video editing, or 3D design.
  • File Management: Strong file organization skills, including proper naming conventions, version control, and preparation of files for print or digital delivery.
  • Industry Interest: Demonstrated interest in technology, aerospace and defense, with a willingness to push creative boundaries within a technical industry

Emails, IMs and verbal interactions are logical, drive clarity, and detailed enough to eliminate ambiguity.

ITAR Requirements

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, the applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

This internship is paid at an hourly rate of $30 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience and education level. For non-local interns, housing or relocation stipends may be available to help offset temporary living expenses.
