Senior Quality Assurance Developer

Location: Remote (For Non-Local) or Hybrid (Local to NYC area)

Position Summary:

The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Developer ensures test automation suites are accurate and up to date through planning, implementation, analysis, and maintenance. They promote testing best practices through effective team communication and application in code through all stages of the software design lifecycle. Working closely with remotely-located peers, the Senior QA Developer establishes and leads the overall test strategy and its subsequent execution for their assigned Scrum team(s).


Position Responsibilities:

  • Define test automation strategies for applications under test
  • Implement test automation suites
  • Plan, direct, and maintain technical aspects of complex test automation initiatives
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies within a Scrum team
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, project managers and subject matter experts as necessary
  • Study industry specifications for clarification and education
  • Apply situational leadership by making effective and efficient testing decisions on behalf of the project
  • Partner with peers in the selection, configuration and implementation of test automation frameworks, tools, and architecture
  • Assist in submission, prioritization, and resolution of defects
  • Perform exploratory front-end and back-end testing and aid in the construction of tooling to assist in that endeavor
  • Perform code reviews on unit tests and developer-contributed code
  • Assist in establishing department-wide metrics, processes, and reporting to be shared with leadership
  • Assure the delivery of high-quality software
  • Work independently on projects where tasks are self-determined and not directly assigned
  • Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of testing experience at all levels of the testing hierarchy (unit, integration, system, Regression, environmental)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a strong background in pharmacy, health plan, or PBA/PBM experience area that aligns with the company’s core product offerings
  • Established history of building and expanding test frameworks (including integrating into CI/CD pipelines)
  • 4+ years of front-end test automation experience with tools like PlayWright or Cypress - Python/JavaScript/Typescript
  • 4+ years of middleware/endpoint testing
  • Solid improvisational skills, a high frustration threshold, and a willingness to learn anything required to get the job done
  • Must be proficient with Linux/Unix shell
  • Must have demonstrable knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) at both an individual and team level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in pharmacy benefit management or health insurance is preferred
  • Hands-On with the Python programming language
  • Experience with mobile testing (Appium)
  • AWS Cloud experience (DevOps with a taste for environment verification)
  • Experience working with RDBMSs (Postgres a plus)

Base Salary: $120,000 - $135,000
