Job Description

About the Group/Team
Canva’s mission is to empower the world to design. With over 220 million users already on board, we have a bold vision to reach 1 billion users. The CJKI Group is dedicated to this mission, pouring our hearts and souls into driving hyperlocalization. We strive to make Canva feel like a local experience in China, Japan, South Korea, and India, ensuring that our platform resonates deeply with users in these regions.

About the Role/Specialty
This role is for a high-performance, highly efficient Product Manager who thrives without a fixed lane — focusing on high-impact, high-ambiguity initiatives across Canva's core growth entry points and platform-level experiences, and moving across domains and markets as business priorities requires. You will operate in a highly complex organizational environment, driving alignment, making clear trade-offs, and delivering measurable outcomes quickly, in unfamiliar territory, with minimal ramp-up time

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

Big Bets Project Owner (CJKI Scope)

  • Own end-to-end product strategy, execution, and outcomes for major initiatives
  • Translate global product vision into actionable, market-appropriate solutions for CJKI
  • Define MBR metrics (input, output & guardrails) and continuously track impact

Product Strategy & Decision-Making

  • Rapidly build deep understanding of user behavior and pain points in whatever domain or market you’re deployed to
  • Make high-quality decisions under uncertainty, even with incomplete data or insights
  • Balance global consistency vs. regional differentiation, clearly articulating trade-offs

Cross-functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner closely with Growth, Subscription, Homepage, Brand, Design, Infra, Data, Marketing, and other teams
  • Quickly building credibility with new partners each time you move onto a new initiative
  • Drive alignment and execution without direct reporting authority
  • Communicate progress, risks, and key decisions clearly to senior stakeholders, including Big Bets leaders

Experimentation & Iteration

  • Reduce uncertainty through A/B testing, phased rollouts, and experimentation frameworks — grounding every experiment in a clearly articulated intent and hypothesis, with input metrics, outcome metrics, and guardrails defined upfront rather than after the fact.
  • Learn quickly, iterate rapidly, and strike the right balance between speed and quality, treating every result — positive or negative — as a source of durable learning rather than a simple ship/no-ship verdict

Qualifications

What we're looking for

Must-have

  • 5–8+ years of Product Management experience, with ownership of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong experience in Growth or Monetization, with a demonstrated track record of being able to move across multiple product domains rather than staying only in a single lane — you're energized by picking up new problem spaces quickly, not just going deep in one.
  • Strong structured thinking: breaks down ambiguous problems with rigor, reasons through edge cases and second-order effects before committing to a direction, rather than jumping straight to a solution
  • Clear communicator and documenter: translates that thinking into thorough PRDs, tailors messages to the audience, and stays organized — tracking work in Jira and keeping stakeholders proactively updated
  • Strong data fluency, able to combine data and user insights to drive decisions
  • Deep understanding of at least one CJKI market (China / Japan / Korea/ India), with the ability to scale insights beyond a single market
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders you haven’t worked with before
  • Actively uses AI to amplify their own output and impact — from speeding up research to prototyping and finding new ways AI can extend what one PM can cover across multiple initiatives — rather than treating AI as optional or someone else's job
  • Fluent in English and comfortable working in a global context

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with product growth, ecommerce, or subscription domain
  • Proven success handling regional differentiation and localization in global products
  • Background in B2C or Product-Led Growth (PLG) environments
