What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
We are seeking a talented Senior Designer to join our Campaigns Art Direction team. As part of the broader Creative group, you will take a leading role in crafting visually compelling campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and customer loyalty. This is a senior-level position requiring a blend of reativity, strategic thinking, and hands-on design expertise. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, copywriters and production to bring our campaigns to life across multiple channels.
- Work on design direction for high-profile global marketing campaigns across digital, social, print, and video, ensuring consistent, high-quality visual design that aligns with Canva’s brand values and messaging.
- Collaborate with the art directors, copywriters, and motion designers to develop creative concepts, execute designs, and iterate on assets based on feedback.
- Translate complex ideas into visually engaging designs that resonate with our audience
- Own the full creative process for campaign visual direction from ideation to final delivery, ensuring all assets maintain the highest design standards.
- Guide and mentor junior designers, providing feedback and support to help them develop their design skills and grow professionally.
- Work with stakeholders to understand campaign goals and audience insights, ensuring designs are aligned with business objectives and brand guidelines.
- Maintain and evolve the visual identity of campaigns to stay fresh and innovative while remaining true to Canva’s brand.
- Develop and oversee the creation of campaign materials including social media ads, landing pages, website banners, email designs, videos, and presentations.
- Stay on top of industry trends, design tools, and technologies to ensure Canva’s campaigns are ahead of the curve in visual communication.
You're probably a match if
- You have minimum of 5+ years in a forward-thinking brand design or design art direction role.
- You have advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Affinity and Canva
- You have good organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- You have exceptional visual design skills, with a keen eye for typography, composition, color, and branding.
- You have experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
- You are proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Sketch, and After Effects.
- You have passion for design, creativity, and the ability to think outside the box to create visually striking and effective marketing campaigns.
- You have a strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative concepts and strategies to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in video production and motion graphics.
- Knowledge of Canva’s design platform and its capabilities.
- Previous experience working at a tech company or on a global brand
