Job Description

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. You’ll work in the office Monday to Fridays with some evenings required (no weekend shifts).

About the Team

As part of our dynamic Vibe team, the Hospitality Experience (HospoX) Team is dedicated to crafting an unparalleled food program and hospitality experience that embodies Canva's values and fosters a strong sense of community. Our mission revolves around the Communal Table, a unique connection program centered on the joy of food , where we continuously unite the team through delightful culinary experiences.

With a team of 7 full-time chefs and 4 kitchen hands, we cater to the culinary needs of 500 - 800 people daily, serving up diverse breakfast and lunch offerings buffet-style for our Canva employees and their guests. Our lunch menu changes daily, ensuring a fresh and inclusive array of dishes inspired by cuisines from around the globe. Sustainability is a core focus, as we prioritize sourcing vegetables and meat from ethical farms and supporting local communities through food volunteering initiatives.

On some days, we host breakfast activation stations where we make omelette, pancakes, crepes and Banh Mi’s. On other days we do events for teams, such as teaching people to cook pizza on our rooftop pizza oven, Korean BBQ DIY, cooking classes, in-person and hybrid across the world.

As the company scales, we have to continually innovate our culinary and beverage offerings, adapting our menu creations and our cultural perspectives on food. So we need YOU in order to achieve our mission and become a world-class HospoX team. We’re seeking an experienced and passionate chef to support the head chef and drive the team in the day to day operations. You’ll have the freedom to express yourself through your skills as a Chef, empowering you to be creative by curating an environment for your growth and development.

  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to maintain and repair kitchen equipment as needed.
