Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora,你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia, but with many of our Canvanauts calling the Philippines home, our office in Manila is a buzzing place. Whether your role needs you in the office, at home or a bit of both, we've created an environment that truly empowers you to thrive.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
About the Team
The Finance Group’s mission is to protect and serve Canva and its stakeholders. That means we empower every team within the company to work quickly and autonomously, while at the same time maintaining compliance in all areas.
As a fast-growing group, we’ve only scratched the surface of the insights we can provide, and our potential to influence Canva’s strategic decisions.
The vision is for Canva to be recognized and commended by its peers and stakeholders as having a world-class Finance Group.
What does the Corporate Accounting team do...
The mission of the Corporate Accounting team is to ensure that financial information withstands external scrutiny in compliance with all local regulations and standards. We are the gatekeepers of externally reported financial information and as the Canva business grows, we are exposed to a broader range of accounting regulations and reporting requirements.
We currently have team members in Sydney and Manila and are looking to continue scaling the team! With growing operations across the world in multiple jurisdictions, we are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant who can expand our local financial reporting processes and assist in bridging the gap between IFRS and the respective local GAAPs.

  • Be a significant contributor to the team’s overall audit readiness: implementing process improvements, applying local accounting standards, and finding opportunities for subsidiaries.
  • Make complex things simple: apply technical accounting experience and research skills to understand the local GAAP implications and support the Regional Accounting Team in identifying and maintaining the local GAAP differences.
  • Handle external advisors for complex local GAAP positions and communicates the accounting implications to the wider accounting group.
  • Support external audits by providing audit requirements from various sources as needed.
  • Work closely with other finance teams and Sydney Head Office: providing accounting advice and support to the core accounting team, regional accounting team, and tax team

Who we are looking for:

  • Expert in their craft: Have a solid technical background and can apply this to the commercial realities of a high-growth environment. Someone who is adaptable and has a strong appetite for learning things and applying new knowledge.
  • An investigator: Someone who enjoys navigating complex topics, thrives on problem-solving, and can effectively communicate accounting concepts to various stakeholders.
  • A team player: Enjoy collaborating and rallying the team towards achieving its goals and are always willing to lend a hand to your colleagues for the collective good.

We would love it if you had:

  • 2-4 years of relevant accounting in either a professional services environment or in-house role with audit and financial reporting exposure
  • Practical experience supporting multiple clients, jurisdictions, and regulations including IFRS and GAAP

  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Solid experience in a similar industry or high-growth company
