As a Software Engineer at CMT, you will be responsible for collaboratively delivering technical solutions to the heart of our state-of-the-art telematics pipeline. You will design, develop, and execute new features and improvements, continuously improving our codebase while working with peer teams.
CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Software Engineer I, Backend who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!
Responsibilities:
- Make contributions to the team using proper software development procedures and method
- Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Full stack design and development with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability and performance
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for telematics solutions, ensuring safe delivery of features and fixes
- Help analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
- Provide required support for occasional production issues
- Follow the company’s development and operational standards and processes
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in Computer Science or related field
- Ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to do general development tasks on Linux
- Some professional engineering experience preferred
- Experience and exposure with some or all of the following:
- Python, Javascript (NodeJS), any language with transferable skills
- AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS
- Creating, maintaining: CI/CD pipelines
- Containerization technologies (specifically Docker)
- Developing web applications (RESTful HTTP backend)

Base Salary Range
- The base salary range for this position is: 92,900 to 116,100. This range is specifically for Cambridge, MA
