We are looking for an entry level software engineer to join our iOS Mobile SDK team, responsible for creating a reliable platform for collecting sensor data to analyze driving behavior using native iOS frameworks to collect phone sensor data as well as information from our proprietary hardware. The role involves developing, releasing, and maintaining high-quality code that is easy to test and extend for new product features, in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.

Mobile developers at CMT work on a variety of different projects. Here are a few examples:
- Enhance mobile solutions to promote safe driving while engaging and delighting users
- Experiment with various behavior modification strategies to improve driver behavior
- Build reliable background mobile data collection services critical for analysis of driver behavior
Responsibilities:
- Implement technical specifications provided by senior developers with some guidance
- Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Design and build mobile applications with guidance
- Implement software solutions that are reliable, readable and testable
- Follow company defined development and operational standards and processes
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
- Experience building adaptive user interfaces
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies (specifically SCRUM)
- Experience consuming and/or designing REST APIs is highly desirable
- Familiarity with unit test or integration tests
- Hard skills required for Android developers:
- Experience in Java or Kotlin
- Familiarity with Android JetPack libraries
- Familiarity with Kotlin coroutines and flows
- Hard skills required for iOS focused developers:
- Proficient in both Swift and Objective-C with a strong understanding of concurrency concepts
- Familiarity with iOS Frameworks and development using XCode
- Familiarity with Combine and SwiftUI
- Familiarity with third-party iOS libraries
Nice-to-haves:
- Some professional engineering experience preferred
- Experience adhering to official UX design guidelines from Apple and Google
- Experience developing and delivering SDKs
- Experience working with mobile sensors and location services
- User level knowledge of issue tracking systems (specifically Jira, Mavenlink)
- Experience with Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
- Investigation and issue analysis from logs
- Instrumentation and correlation tracking/statistics with Datadog, Grafana
