ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and analytical finance director with strong numerical and leadership skills to drive our organization's financial operations and help improve financial performance. Responsibilities will include managing accounting staff, overseeing internal controls, conducting feasibility studies, monitoring cash flow, treasury and investments, and managing risks.

This role is an important member of the Leadership team, as well as a crucial asset in supporting Brainly’s development and growth by managing costs and margins.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage accounting department team members and all accounting activities on a day-to-day basis, MEC and annual close
• Provide management of important financial data
• Prepare and present financial reports
• Manage all corporate financial accounts
• Ensure P2P, OTC, tax, TP and sales tax compliance
• Work closely with external auditors to coordinate and prepare for the annual audit, year-end tax preparation and other tax related issues
• Manage preparation and timely filing of all governmental and regulatory agencies
• Manage and track cloud costing
• Implement and maintain policies and procedures to make the close, reporting process, internal controls, and audit more efficient while mitigating risk and enhancing the accuracy of the company's financial results in compliance with GAAP
• Implement and execute hedging strategy
• Leverage technology and automation to reduce exposure and increase efficiency

WHAT MAKES YOU THE PERFECT CANDIDATE

• CPA or equivalent (ACCA, CIMA)
• BA in accounting/ economics
• Experience managing an Accounting team of at least 4 people
• Experience managing MEC process
• Accounting experience with managing FS
• Experience in leading external audit
• Experience in managing remote teams
• Experience with managing international entities
• Extraordinary organization skills and extremely detail-oriented in all work
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including English fluency
• Positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectively
• Being detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Able to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes

WHAT WILL BLOW OUR MINDS

• Experience in tech, preferably in ed-tech
• Experience in working with NetSuite and Expensify
• Proficiency in google sheets
