Bloom & Wild

Operations
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Posted on Aug 7, 2025
bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain! We skip the auction and wholesale, to shorten the journey for our flowers. And we harness technology, brand and innovation to deliver gifts and subscriptions that delight our customers across Europe.
We launched in Amsterdam in 2014, and in 2021 joined forces with Bloom & Wild, the UK's fastest growing ecommerce company (according to the Financial Times). Our group is backed by top tier investors and is now home to a family of 3 strong brands, Bloom & Wild, bloomon and Bergamotte. Together, we’ve delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe.
Our vision is to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won't stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we're expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe's #1 direct to consumer gifting destination.
We care wildly about people and our planet. Which is why we’re so proud to be a certified B Corp™ – committed to making long-term positive change for our community, and the world around us.
🛠️ The Commercial Team
Our team cares wildly about delivering ambitious and profitable growth across all of our markets and brands. We’re firmly focused on growing profitably, whilst also keeping an eye on the long term commercial view, and our wider business goals, in everything that we do.
This may sound like a cliché, but we really are a bunch of fast-thinking problem-solvers. Think Deeply, Act Swiftly really comes into play in our team. Our Slack channels are full of threads of our team coming together to solve a problem, sharing knowledge and resources, and all working together for our shared mission. We know where we’re headed, and we’re all ready to jump in to support each other to get there. We develop our commercial strategy whilst managing day to day trading to have full country or category oversight.
We’re a distributed team, and we currently have team members all across Europe & the UK! This role is based in our Amsterdam office with an expectation of being in the office 2 - 3 days a week, or more if you prefer. We work very frequently with almost all other functions across the business, so we’re really proud of our ability to collaborate effectively and are always looking for ways to connect and work together; making use of both our virtual tools and our lovely offices. We come together as a full team once a year in either London or Amsterdam for a team offsite, and throughout the rest of the year we gather in our respective country teams as frequently as we can!
💻 What you’ll be doing
Reporting to our Commercial Trading Lead, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a crucial function to bloomon, which will allow you to make significant contributions to our day to day operations, and give you the opportunity to work cross functionally with several departments, in a ‘matrix management’ style.
You will ensure our website is set up for success, manage our week to week availability and wastage metrics, and be a key stakeholder in a variety of projects related to the gifting business. You will also maintain key relationships with our in house operations, central planning, range and product design teams. Over our peaks (Christmas, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day), you will also assist project managing the trading execution across the whole business.
In general, you’ll be working with collaborative and passionate people who care about what they do. It’s a fast-paced environment, very few days are the same and you can immediately add impact! Your key responsibilities will include the below, but due to the evolving nature of our company, additional project work can be expected (especially in our off-peak summer months), and tailored to your long term learning and development plans.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Owning the on site experience, managing stock levels, photography, naming and ordering of products (amongst other things) to increase or rebalance customer demand as and when needed
  • Preparing for and executing for our peak gifting moments, ensuring we have the most accurate order volume and delivery date forecast which maximises our growth whilst minimising our wastage, working with our forecasting and planning team
  • Preparing the monthly trading meeting agendas, sharing market context at the beginning of meetings in order to inform the decisions we need to make
  • Complete a pre launch SKU checklist confirming stock is where it should be and all other dependencies aligned before going live
  • Own on site nav mapping & setting up, including tagging SKUS, investigating when any elements not working as expected
  • Sharing our weekly range changes and liaising with the range team to ensure they’re captured in our forward looking plans on site
  • Support in driving the scaling of our addons category
  • Managing our day to day and week to week stock position - in collaboration with our central planning, flower buying & operations teams. Ensuring we maintain strong availability and are reacting to changes in customer preferences
  • Inputting into our longer term forecasts, with customer knowledge informing where we want to grow certain products
  • Collaborating with our other country trading teams (Germany & UK) and occasionally providing trading support to other markets
  • Our key enablers for every element of our operations are data and technology, so there is also often close collaboration with those teams. Even for areas of the business where the trading team are not directly involved, we are often a key stakeholder in conversations, and as such you can expect to learn a lot about every element of our business.
You can expect to work cross-functionally with several key departments:
Central Forecasting: Who aim to accurately produce short, medium and long term delivery forecasts across our entire range of gifts
Digital Marketing teams: Who aim to retain existing customers, and acquire new customers. The marketing forecasts form a key input into the weekly local forecasts which the forecasting team produces
Range and Merchandising: Who are responsible for designing our range and developing the strategy for how we merchandise it on site. The commercial team liaises closely with these teams particularly around new flower launches, and on the long-term range strategy
Fulfilment & Operations sites - We fulfil our bouquets from our warehouse based in Amstelveen. This team optimises for customer satisfaction, quality and associated COGs, and the commercial team work closely with our warehouse to manage stock and all customer touchpoints around our physical product.

We value all backgrounds, perspectives, ideas and experiences, and encourage everyone to share their opinions openly within our caring and inclusive team.
🧭 Our ways of working
We do things a little bit differently. From inventing letterbox flowers to founding The Thoughtful Marketing Movement. We’re big on collaboration, empathy, knowledge sharing and growth, and our values drive our priorities every day:
Lead change for good: we have the guts to try new things and step up to do what matters most
Think deeply, act swiftly: we make sure there’s thoughtful rationale behind our approach and always act swiftly to implement ideas
Care wildly: we pour care and creativity into everything we do and pay attention to the things that make a difference
Stay open, be curious: we’re open about what we’re doing and why, and we welcome challenges from each other
We really believe in the power of face-to-face connections - be that through a shared project, a learning and development opportunity, or an after work social - and trust our teams to make the right decisions (for them and us) about where and how they work each day. Our working patterns are flexible and vary across the business, depending on the type of work, need for collaboration, and personal and wellbeing circumstances.
