BigCommerce, named Best Place to Work in Austin, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Global PMO Team! Reporting to the Director of PMO - Strategy and GTM, you will support a complex Web Migration initiative. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the seamless transition of web tech stack across the organization. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Web Strategy, Web Development, Product and Engineering, Marketing, and Strategy to deliver a high-impact migration that meets business, technical, and user experience goals - on time and within scope. The ideal candidate brings expertise in website operations, a deep understanding of technical dependencies, and excels in managing detailed plans while keeping a sharp eye on the bigger strategic picture.
What You’ll Do
Migration Planning & Execution
Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of a large-scale web migration, including timelines, data/content migration, QA, cutover, and post-launch stabilization.
Partner with Web Strategy, UX, Engineering, and Publishing teams to define scope, requirements, and sprint-ready work.
Facilitate platform audits, technical requirements gathering, and stakeholder interviews to inform migration readiness.
Translate strategic business objectives into detailed project plans and actionable milestones.
Project Leadership
Act as Scrum Master for the migration workstream, manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
Identify and mitigate risks
Monitor dependencies between cross-functional teams and proactively remove blockers.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
Drive project delivery through effective use of internal stakeholder meetings - coordinate & facilitate, draft and issues timely agenda and minutes, and follow up on action items
Lead effective status reporting, governance communications, and executive updates.
Create and manage documentation, including migration project trackers, QA logs, site maps, and issue logs.
Process & Operational Excellence
Maintain clean and up-to-date records in Jira and Confluence, ensuring complete visibility into progress and blockers.
Drive continuous improvement by documenting learnings, standardizing intake processes, and refining workflows for future migrations.
Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator to align creative, content, and design resources around key migration milestones.
Maintain close alignment with the Global PMO on processes, procedures, and best practices.
Who You Are
5+ years of related professional experience, including 3+ years of Project Management within web or digital marketing teams, ideally in SaaS or tech environments
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level web migrations or replatforming projects.
Adept in Jira, Confluence, Asana, and web project planning tools; familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager)
Solid understanding of web architecture, content modeling, SEO best practices, and site performance.
Comfortable managing both agile sprints and waterfall-style implementation plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for non-technical stakeholders.
PMP and/or Scrum certification preferred.
Calm under pressure, highly organized, and confident navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
Experience creating and actively managing integrated timelines and project risk factors.
Strong influencing skills and proven ability to get things done without formal authority.
