Strategy and Operations Lead

Better Health is growing and looking for a Strategy & Operations Lead. This person will play a pivotal role helping Better Health efficiently grow, enter new categories, acquire businesses, and build robust partnerships. As the Strategy & Operations Lead, you will help our growing business ready for the future by leveraging experience in consulting, strategy, and finance.

We want to talk to you if you are a scrappy leader, who has a track record of building for teams that are tackling complex processes and operating in challenging operating models. In this role, you will work closely with executive leadership to drive fast results and make a meaningful impact daily on the business.

Who is Better Health?

Better Health is a new type of medical provider built on peer to peer connection, helping people with chronic conditions live and age at home. We bundle peer support, education, and home delivery of medical supplies in an end-to-end digital care solution. We help our members discover and purchase the best medical equipment and supplies to address their underlying chronic conditions and receive the education and support they need to thrive at home.

Since our inception in November 2019, Better Health has gained Medicare licenses in 46 states, 16 Medicaid licenses, and preferred national provider contracts with leading payers, including Oscar Health and Humana. This has allowed our member base to rapidly grow with virtually no churn. We are backed by Caffeinated Capital, General Catalyst, Mastry, 8VC, Bill Ackman and a large group of experienced investors and entrepreneurs (see our series A announcement post).

What will you do as the Strategy and Operations Manager?

• Serve as a leader within strategic operations by leading projects, programs, and processes
• Lead our strategic corporate acquisition strategy
• Make recommendations and execute process improvements to disentangle complexity
• Backup strategic initiatives with data and models to support changes
• Explore new categories for growth and launch new lines of business
• Support the launch of partnership agreements by building robust internal processes and managing internal and external stakeholders
• Leverage experience in finance / accounting to understand business performance and prioritize changes
• Work cross-functionally with operations, expansion, product, and finance to accomplish objectives and achieve goals

What do you bring to the table?

• You have worked in management consulting
• You have experience in acquisitions and corporate development
• You have experience at an early stage start-up, building 0 to 1
• You have experience in finance or accounting
• You know how to optimize processes and procedures, extracting value and fillings gaps
• You’re comfortable operating in the unknown and balancing multiple projects and responsibilities
• You know how to make technical concepts understandable to a non-technical audience
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit and creative style
