Clinical Director
Job type: Independent Contractor (1099), up to 10-15 hours weekly

Position Summary
The Clinical Director is responsible for the clinical management of Better Health’s peer coaching and clinical programs, and will report to the Head of Operations and will work closely with our Care Programs Manager, who manages the operational components of Better Health’s care programs.
This role will apply professional skills in developing educational programs, training staff and members, and assisting in clinical strategy decisions at Better Health. Working with staff at all levels of the organization, the Director meets the organization’s objectives and key results while promoting an environment with open communication and respect among all team members. The Clinical Director must have excellent interpersonal skills, collaborate effectively, and be a creative problem solver. In addition, they must be able to deliver presentations, delegate work, hold others accountable for deliverables, and communicate with key stakeholders. The Director will contribute to the continuous improvement and clinical quality of Better Health’s care programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership for Better Health’s peer support and care programs
  • Collaborate with the Care Programs Manager to manage the quality of our peer support and care programs
  • Assist in recruitment of peer coaches and care program staff
  • Manage clinical quality for peer sessions through case consultation, review of sessions and documentation, and coaching of care program staff
  • Conduct regular assessments of member outcomes and provide recommendations to drive improved outcomes for members
  • Be available for member escalations that require clinical leadership intervention
  • Develop and maintain educational resources and tools for peer coaches and members
  • Attend occasional meetings with care program and/or company leadership
  • Serve as a clinical point person for collaborations with external entities
  • Promote evidence-based practice through participation in clinical trials
  • Coordinate with billing staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of sample products
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of managing clinical care programs

Qualifications

  • NP or MD with current licensure
  • Passionate about patient-centered care and a belief that peer support is an important component that supports and improves patient outcomes
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based ostomy care, wound care, continence, and diabetes care practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort talking virtually or on phone calls
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently within established procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Experience with Google suite, knowledge management systems (e.g. Guru)
