Who we are:

Better Health is creating a new kind of care platform, built on peer to peer connection.

Our solution bundles peer coaching, education, and home delivery of medical supplies for people with chronic conditions. We don’t just help our members discover and purchase the best medical supplies. We provide support that they can’t get anywhere else, and match them with a peer coach who lives with the same condition. The result? Improved mental health, reduced overutilization of care, and a 97% customer satisfaction rating.

Since inception in November 2019, Better Health has gained Medicare licenses in 46 states, 16 Medicaid licenses, and preferred national provider contracts with Cigna, Humana, and Oscar Health, among others. This has allowed our member base to rapidly grow month to month with very low churn. We are backed by Caffeinated Capital, General Catalyst, Mastry, 8VC, Bill Ackman, as well as several prominent entrepreneurs and healthcare leaders.

With our rapid growth, we are looking to hire a remote Business Development Representative to support our new health systems expansion.

The role:

The Business Development Representative (Contractor) is responsible for prospecting and setting up meetings with new health systems. This role requires a self-motivated professional with strong communication skills and a proven track record in B2B sales. The focus is on identifying potential prospects, engaging in outbound prospecting activities, and effectively communicating the company's value proposition to secure meetings. Collaboration with the sales and marketing teams, maintaining records, and staying updated on industry trends are key responsibilities. This contractor position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in expanding the company's healthcare client base.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Actively prospect and identify potential health systems as targets for business development efforts.
  • Engage in outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, email outreach, and social media engagement, to generate leads and book meetings with health systems.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities within the healthcare industry.
  • Conduct thorough research on target health systems, including their organizational structure, decision-makers, and specific pain points, to tailor outreach efforts and effectively communicate value propositions.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategic business development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activities and sales interactions using CRM software.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads and facilitate effective communication throughout the sales cycle.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years in B2B sales or business development, preferably within the healthcare industry or related field.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in health systems and an understanding of their decision-making processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and meet or exceed targets and goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prospect and generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, and social media.
  • Experience using CRM software to manage sales activities and track progress.
  • Proactive and resourceful problem solver, with the ability to identify and overcome obstacles and objections in the sales process.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with the flexibility to adjust strategies and priorities as needed.
