Principal, Technical Business Development, AWS

Job ID: 2967237 | AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch)

DESCRIPTION

AWS is seeking a Principal Business Development Manager to join our team. In this senior role, you will be responsible for shaping, orchestrating, influencing and enabling some of Amazon's most complex and high-impact workload adoption and migration opportunities. We are looking for an innovative, creative, analytical, and strategic thinker who is passionate about helping customers accelerate their cloud adoption and driving AWS growth, and bridging the gap between account, product and technical teams across AWS.

The ideal candidate should enjoy solving complex problems, work effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving setting. The role requires a deep understanding of the businesses of some of our largest AWS customers and an ability to earn trust with AWS and business leaders in the United Kingdom and internationally. Adoption and migration initiatives are key drivers of our business and essential for customer success. Customers expect more than just operational efficiencies, whether motivated by cost savings, data center consolidation, or technology lifecycle events. While achieving 25-50% cost reductions, they aim to increase business agility, transform customer experiences, and drive new innovations leveraging AWS's cloud capabilities.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Region Leadership team in helping to drive overall AWS segment and technical strategy.
- Engage directly with customer executives to devise large-scale migration and transformation plans, leveraging proven programs and deep expertise.
- Drive organizational change and implement best practices to enhance the growth of the business.
- Actively contribute to the cultivation of knowledge and expertise across the organization.
- Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, partners, marketing, support, etc.).
- Relevant business level technical knowledge is required, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, content delivery networks (CDNs) etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied AWS services.
- Work closely with customers to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
