DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including Public Sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
The Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) market represents a significant opportunity for AWS, and we are looking for a new program management and Operations specialist to help us drive APJ’s Top Strategic Initiatives (SIs).
This leader will collaborate closely with the APJ sales executives and diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders, including Sales, Services, Channels, Finance and Global Operations, to execute SIs that unlock the biggest growth opportunities over the next 12 to 18 months. The ideal candidate (“builder”) will possess proven sales operations experience, a deep analytical background, financial acumen, and experience implementing complex global sales strategy initiatives at scale. Additionally, they will have the foresight to anticipate business needs, make short- and long-term trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints. Strong judgment and the ability to influence without explicit authority are crucial for success, as well as knowing when and where to advocate vigorously for a well-informed position. Lastly, we expect this builder to start by “rolling up their sleeves,” understand business needs and possess the ability to create simple, scalable solutions to complex problems, excel in project management, and communicate complex topics concisely and easily.
Key job responsibilities
- Deep interlock and alignment with senior leaders across APJ SMGS and GSO organizations to share strategic insights, support business decision and run accountability/execution mechanisms
- Excellence in Program Management (PMO) and change leadership to influence across all areas and levels of the organization
- Delivering highly complex, large scale, strategic initiatives from initiation through delivery, on time and with quality
- Continuous focus on identifying and delivering innovative, ‘think-big’ improvement opportunities which enable operational excellence
About the team

In the Sales Strategy team, we work closely with internal business leaders to glean their knowledge, incorporate data and information from external sources, and develop our own insights to inform and drive change across our global SMGS organization. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in technical sales, sales enablement or sales operations role
- Significant experience and demonstrated success in developing initiatives and programs around technical field sales training and enablement
- Demonstrated experience taking strategic visions and concepts and developing into structured plans, actions and measureable metrics; experience executing plans to deliver results
- Experience working with program, project, and performance management
- Demonstrated analytical skills, by working with databases, reporting systems and SalesForce
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
