The Director, Marketplace Partnerships, will play a critical role in expanding and strengthening Awardco’s global marketplace by identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic vendor and partner relationships. This role is responsible for growing the network of redemption opportunities available to our clients’ employees across multiple regions and industries. The ideal candidate is an experienced partnerships professional who understands how to evaluate vendor opportunities, negotiate favorable commercial terms, and build scalable partnerships that increase platform value. This position will work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to ensure new partnerships are successfully integrated and optimized. While the role will initially operate as an individual contributor, it has the potential to evolve into a leadership position as the network team grows.
What you will do:
- Proven experience building and managing strategic eCommerce partnerships, including identifying, onboarding, and growing relationships with key vendors, platforms, and distribution partners to drive revenue and expand product offerings
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new global vendors and partners to expand Awardco’s marketplace redemption offerings.
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors, ensuring favorable pricing, commission structures, and partnership terms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global partners to drive long-term collaboration and performance.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow marketplace supply and increase the diversity of redemption options available to users worldwide.
- Partner with Legal and Finance teams to structure and finalize vendor agreements and commercial terms.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure smooth onboarding and technical integration of new partners.
- Analyze marketplace data and trends to identify gaps in regional offerings and prioritize new partnership opportunities.
- Manage vendor performance and optimize partnerships to improve customer experience and platform engagement.
- Provide strategic insight into marketplace growth opportunities and help shape the long-term vendor network strategy.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, marketplace growth, or vendor management.
- 5+ years of experience managing ecommerce relationships and understanding the ecommerce world.
- Proven track record negotiating complex contracts and commercial agreements.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working with global companies and understanding redemption or rewards opportunities across international markets.
- Ability to evaluate partnership opportunities from both strategic and financial perspectives.
- Familiarity with global vendor networks, including gift cards, travel, merchandise, or experiential rewards.
- Experience launching and scaling partnerships across multiple geographic regions.
