Lead Atlassian Administrator

Awardco is seeking a Lead Atlassian Administrator to own and evolve our Atlassian ecosystem in support of scalable, high-impact operations. This role will serve as the strategic and technical lead for Jira (JPM, JSM, JPD), Confluence, and related tools, ensuring they enable effective project execution and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of project management principles, excels at translating user needs into practical system solutions, and thrives in a highly collaborative environment. This role will play a critical part in improving visibility, efficiency, and delivery across the organization.
What you will do:
- Own the administration, configuration, and ongoing optimization of Jira (JPM, JSM, and JPD), Confluence, and related Atlassian tools
- Act as the platform lead for Atlassian tools within the Systems Operations department
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business and process requirements into effective system configurations
- Gather user needs, assess gaps, and design scalable solutions that deliver usable end results
- Support and enhance project management workflows aligned with organizational standards and best practices
- Manage and maintain integrations between Jira and other enterprise systems as needed
- Provide advanced support, troubleshooting, and platform guidance to end users
- Evaluate new Atlassian features, plugins, and tools, recommending enhancements to improve system effectiveness and user experience
- Establish and promote governance, documentation, and best practices for Atlassian tool usage

What you will bring:
Qualifications (minimum and required)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Atlassian tools, with deep expertise in Jira and Confluence
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and workflows
- Proven ability to gather requirements and translate them into effective system solutions
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a SaaS or technology-driven environment
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide clear, actionable guidance
Specific Experience
- Administering Jira projects across JPM, JSM, and JPD
- Designing workflows, permission schemes, issue types, and automations
- Building executive-level dashboards and operational reporting
- Managing integrations between Jira and other enterprise systems
- Evaluating and implementing Atlassian Marketplace apps
Credentials
- Atlassian certifications (ACP) are a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
