As an SMB Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in driving Awardco’s growth by leading a team of talented SMB Account Executives focused on expanding our presence within small organizations. You will leverage your leadership skills to inspire and empower your team to achieve ambitious sales goals while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. By developing and executing strategic sales plans, nurturing key client relationships, and ensuring operational excellence, you’ll help deliver tailored solutions that drive employee engagement and recognition for our clients. What You Will Do:

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of SMB Account Executives, driving individual and team performance to achieve sales targets.
  • Set clear performance goals, quotas, and expectations aligned with company revenue objectives for SMB segment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance sales skills, product knowledge, and consultative selling techniques.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven team culture through regular feedback, coaching, and development plans.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Execute the sales strategy for targeting and acquiring SMB sized organizations (<500 employees) in the rewards and recognition market.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales goals and refine metrics for the SMBl sales team.
  • Support team members throughout the sales cycle, including prospecting, presenting solutions, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Ensure the accurate use of Salesforce for tracking leads, opportunities, and activities, while maintaining reliable sales forecasts.

Sales Process & Opportunity Development

  • Drive prospecting efforts through targeted outreach, networking, and referrals to grow the pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Engage directly with prospects during key stages of the sales process to provide support and close deals.
  • Partner with Customer Success and internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and seamless customer transitions post-sale.

Customer & Relationship Management

  • Build relationships with decision-makers in SMB accounts, understanding their needs and aligning solutions to address them.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for clients, providing insights into best practices for employee engagement and recognition strategies.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention by delivering tailored value and exceptional service.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to evaluate team effectiveness and improve strategies.
  • Provide regular progress updates to leadership on team achievements, pipeline health, and challenges.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to drive efficiency and results.

What You Will Bring:

Experience & Expertise

  • 5+ years in SMB sales, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth in SaaS, HR tech, or employee benefits.
  • 2+ years in a sales leadership or team lead role, managing and developing high-performing sales teams.

Sales Leadership

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of sales professionals to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies tailored to the needs of small to mid-sized organizations.

Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving

  • Skilled at identifying growth opportunities, overcoming challenges, and crafting client-focused solutions.
  • Ability to align team performance with organizational objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Communication & Relationship Building

  • Exceptional ability to engage stakeholders, deliver persuasive presentations, and foster client trust.
  • Success in building and maintaining relationships with SMB clients for long-term success.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Salesforce, Gong, and other sales enablement tools.
  • Familiarity with HR tech or employee recognition platforms is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Relevant certifications in sales leadership or training preferred.
