As a rapidly growing SaaS company, we’re looking for a dynamic Director of Commercial Sales to lead and expand our commercial sales function. This role will focus on driving growth within mid-market to enterprise-sized organizations (<7,500 employees) by leading a team of Commercial Sales Managers and empowering their teams of Account Executives to succeed.

What You Will Do:

  • Commercial Sales Leadership:
    Lead and oversee a team of Commercial Sales Managers, ensuring they effectively manage and inspire their teams of Commercial Account Executives. Cultivate a high-performance culture driven by collaboration and results.
  • Strategic Sales Planning:
    Develop and execute a scalable sales strategy for the commercial segment, aligning with Awardco’s growth objectives. Identify new opportunities within small to mid-sized organizations and create actionable plans to expand Awardco’s presence.
  • Leadership Development:
    Mentor and coach Commercial Sales Managers to enhance their leadership capabilities. Provide ongoing feedback and guidance to ensure their teams are engaged, motivated, and equipped to achieve sales targets.
  • Revenue Growth:
    Own and achieve revenue targets for the commercial segment by driving team performance, tracking metrics, and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Client Engagement:
    Support Sales Managers and their teams in building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients. Ensure an exceptional customer experience that results in long-term partnerships and ongoing revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with internal teams such as Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to develop tailored solutions and go-to-market strategies that address the specific needs of commercial clients.
  • Market Insights:
    Stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape within the commercial segment. Use insights to refine strategies and share feedback with internal stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Establish and oversee processes for forecasting, pipeline management, and sales operations. Leverage data analytics to ensure consistent, data-driven decision-making and accurate reporting.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience & Expertise:
    • 8+ years of experience in commercial sales, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth in SaaS or technology environments.
    • 3+ years in a leadership role managing sales teams, including experience overseeing Sales Managers or team leads.
  • Sales Acumen:
    • Expertise in managing complex sales cycles within the commercial space, particularly with organizations of <7,500 employees.
    • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, including consultative and value-based selling.
  • Leadership Excellence:
    • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams and their leaders.
    • Demonstrated success in fostering collaboration and building team cohesion.
  • Strategic Thinking:
    • Ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans for the commercial sales segment.
    • Skilled at identifying growth opportunities and navigating challenges within a dynamic environment.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Adept at influencing decision-making and acting as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
    • Familiarity with HR tech or employee recognition platforms is a plus.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
    • Advanced certifications or relevant leadership training are a plus.
