We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to lead the technical aspect of the prospective client journey, from proof-of-concept to final decision. This individual will provide expert technical support to the sales team, become a trusted advisor to customers, assist in designing demo accounts, and act as a subject matter expert to address unique client challenges. In this role, you will be pivotal in assisting Account Executives with selling Awardco's solutions. You will serve as the primary technical contact for prospective clients, guiding them through the understanding of our offerings and how they address their specific needs. This position is primarily focused on pre-sales activities, including discovery calls, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept development, and achieving technical closure.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and deliver advanced technical presentations that effectively explain products or services to clients and prospective clients.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor by demonstrating deep product knowledge and practical applications to solve complex client challenges.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to overcome prospective client barriers and concerns, driving the sales process forward.
  • Support the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of shared team assets, including a knowledge base, technical training, and sandbox/demo environments.
  • Conduct thorough technical discovery to identify pain points and complex business use cases.
  • Collaborate with sales managers to understand and address individual team and Account Executive needs.
  • Provide technical support, demo preparation, product expertise, and training to Account Executives.
  • Offer technical guidance for troubleshooting systems and demos.
  • Provide guidelines for implementing secure systems to prospective clients or installation teams.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Proven experience in selling products that require significant technical expertise and support for installation and use.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and communicate complex technical concepts, and develop compelling sales solutions that demonstrate business value.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to establish trust across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience with SFTP, API, and SSO integrations.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.
  • Previous experience working with HRIS providers is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
