About the role: We are searching for a Sr. Member of Technical Staff (Sr. MTS) to join the Aviatrix Platform Team. The Aviatrix Platform Team builds and maintains the distributed software platform that powers Aviatrix’s multicloud networking and security solutions. This team ensures the platform is scalable, reliable, and secure, enabling enterprise customers to manage complex cloud environments with confidence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable, high-performance and reliable distributed networking applications and automation tooling using modern languages such as Golang, Python, or similar.
  • Utilize build automation and containerization tools (e.g., Bazel, CI/CD pipelines, Docker) to streamline development, testing, and deployment environments.
  • Implement end-to-end network management solutions by analyzing requirements and working under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Investigate, debug, and optimize system components to significantly improve scalability, stability, and reliability.
  • Propose and implement incremental improvements that enhance overall product reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure high-quality and timely feature delivery.
  • Actively participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and sharing technical learnings across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering focused on networking, security, or distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern language: Golang, C/C++, or Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on technically challenging problems and to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Alibaba Cloud, etc.) in the context of networking and security.
  • Familiarity with container and virtualization technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, KVM, libvirt, or Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking internals, and performance tuning (e.g., OVS/DPDK, SR-IOV, VMXnet3).
  • Experience designing or consuming REST APIs for system integrations.

The US annual base salary range for this full-time position is $161,925-$190,500 + benefits + 401(k) match + equity and is bonus eligible. The pay range is determined by the role, work location, job-related skills, level, experience and relevant education. The range displayed is applicable only for new hires for the listed position located in the US.
