About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Product Designer to lead the design effort for a key product area at August Health. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end design process for your product domain, working closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to create exceptional user experiences that improve outcomes for our communities and their residents. What You'll Do
- Lead product design for your designated product area from concept through launch and iteration
- Drive the design vision and establish design patterns, principles, and best practices within your domain
- Conduct user research to deeply understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors, translating insights into actionable design solutions
- Create comprehensive design deliverables including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, clinical advisors, and other designers to align on product strategy and execution
- Champion the user throughout the product development process, ensuring decisions are grounded in user needs and data
- Iterate based on feedback from usability testing, user feedback, and product metrics
- Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the product
- Mentor and provide design feedback to other team members, fostering a culture of design excellence
About You
- 5+ years of product design experience, preferably in healthcare, wellness, or other regulated/complex domains
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work, including your process and the impact of your designs
- Expertise in user research methodologies and translating research insights into design decisions
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar
- Resourceful, proactive, and effective in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Strong visual and interaction design skills with attention to micro-interactions and usability details
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate design decisions and tell compelling stories
- Systems thinking and ability to design scalable solutions that work across multiple use cases
- Collaborative mindset and experience working in cross-functional teams
