About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware components and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of hardware into our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with hardware design tools, and a passion for innovation. This full-time position requires working 5 days a week in our Mountain View, CA office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop hardware components and systems for new products, including circuit boards, processors, and sensors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to define hardware requirements and specifications.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and risk assessments to validate the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of hardware designs.

  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and 3D models, enabling rapid prototyping and iteration through 3D printing and other manufacturing methods.

  • Identify and resolve hardware issues across the product lifecycle, from prototype development to mass production, ensuring product quality and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and investigate non-conforming products, implementing corrective actions to maintain product quality.

  • Execute device validations in accordance with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

  • Perform electrical analysis, simulation, and optimization to enhance the performance, power efficiency, and robustness of hardware designs.

  • Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback, ensuring designs align with regulatory standards, best practices, and product goals.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation in hardware design.

What You’ll Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in hardware design and development, preferably in the consumer electronics or embedded systems industry.

  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, SPICE).

  • Deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles, signal integrity, and power management.

  • Strong experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.

  • Experience working with manufacturing teams, understanding DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles, and transitioning designs from prototype to production.

  • Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, and other embedded hardware platforms.

  • Familiarity with communication interfaces and protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet).

  • Experience with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, CE, RoHS) is a strong advantage

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality hardware solutions.

  • Experience with hardware bring-up, testing, and validation methodologies is desirable.
