We are a team of 5 based in San Francisco looking for a Chief of Staff! Our team is fully in-person and works out of our office in SOMA.

Artie syncs databases and data warehouses/lakes in real-time and more reliably than traditional ETLs. Most companies are running batch ETLs to replicate data and are dealing with latency of hours to days. We make replication real-time and empower businesses to be more efficient and open up new use cases like risk and transaction monitoring, live inventory visibility, customer facing analytical dashboards, and many others.

We’ve raised $3.3M from top investors including Exponent Founders Capital, Y Combinator, General Catalyst, and many angel investors including Benn Stancil, Lenny Rachitsky, and Arash Ferdowsi.

Role & responsibilities

As the Chief of Staff, you will work directly with the CEO on many strategic initiatives across sales, marketing, event planning, finance, security, and operations. You’ll be handling multiple cross-functional tasks and are a jack of all trades. No task is above or beneath you - you’ll be involved in making strategic decisions and will also need to be scrappy when necessary (e.g. we’re going to a conference, don’t have a booth, and you have a $1,000 budget).

TL;DR you’ll be the CEO’s 2nd pair of hands and will have a front row seat on building a startup. This is a great role for people who want to eventually become a founder or COO.

Some Responsibilities You’ll Take On

  • You’ll be handed problems that will require talking to customers, researching competition, running experiments, pulling data, etc. You should have the ability to take on ambiguous tasks, do research, come up with proposals, and execute on solutions. Some examples include exploring new GTM channels, setting up analytics in Hubspot, managing partnerships and creating co-marketing materials, putting together investor pitch decks, etc.
  • Executing on and streamlining internal operations, including preparing for/attending conferences, planning team events, completing security review docs, billing customers, etc.
  • Updating the sales deck and creating sales collateral/playbooks, plan webinars, update messaging on the website and in our documentation, etc.

Type of person we’re looking for

  • You are a clear communicator (verbal and written) and people have told you that you’re good with people.
  • You are highly disciplined and are really good at execution.
  • You love to learn and can pick up knowledge quickly.
  • You are scrappy and can get things done with very little resources. You don’t mind having to do manual data entry in google sheets to run basic analysis.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment without much guidance. You’re comfortable with lack of structure (or lots of ambiguity).

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in strategy or operations roles, investment banking or other finance roles and wanting to break into tech.
  • Willing to work in-person 5 days a week in downtown SF.
