About the Role
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to drive our financial success by overseeing the general ledger, accounting operations, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. You will be supported by a talented existing team and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support our rapid growth and maintain our strong financial foundation. Your deep knowledge of accounting principles and strong leadership skills will contribute to our continued success and drive our business forward.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute end-to-end monthly financial close, including general accounting and bookkeeping
- Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system and that ledger accounts are accurate
- Prepare month-end journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide monthly close deliverables
- Implement policies and procedures as it relates to accounting rules and changes
- Lead strategy in improving our existing accounting procedures, software, internal controls, documentation, and accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay updated on the latest accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary adjustments as needed.
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment, promoting teamwork and a strong sense of accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems e.g., Netsuite
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, managing financial audits and external vendors and consultants
- Expert self-starter, with ability to drive and execute a diverse range of projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- 4+ years accounting experience (ideally 2+ at a “Big Four” accounting firm or equivalent, plus 2+ as an in-house accountant at a fast-growing startup or equivalent)
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Preferred experience working at enterprise software companies
- CPA is a plus
