About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

Strategy & Operations Manager, Product Partnerships

About the Role

As a Strategy & Operations Manager on the Product Partnerships team at Anthropic, you'll support a cross-functional team in creating, researching, and implementing data partnership strategies to improve Anthropic's products. You'll serve as a strategic enabler and operational executor—solving ambiguous problems, providing analytical rigor on critical decisions, and building scalable systems that empower the team and accelerate Anthropic's data & product partnerships.

Your ability to think through partnership strategies, run data-driven analyses, and think broadly about the technology and content ecosystem will serve you well in this role. This is a great fit for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can seamlessly pivot between high-level strategy and detailed execution, and gets energy from solving problems that don't have an established playbook.

Responsibilities

Strategic Analysis and Problem Solving

  • Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify partnership opportunities and inform strategic decision-making

  • Build valuation models, partnership evaluation frameworks, and ROI analyses for partnership initiatives

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for executive leadership, highlighting key insights, opportunities, and recommendations

  • Take the team's most complex challenges from ambiguity to clarity, establishing frameworks and processes to address them

  • Support partner managers in navigating novel partnership structures and emerging issues

Program Execution

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of data & product strategies for Product Partnerships, ensuring alignment with Anthropic's product goals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate proposals, negotiate terms, and structure deals that align with Anthropic's business objectives

  • Oversee relationships with scaled partners, monitoring partnership performance data to assess product impact and inform ongoing strategy

  • Provide operational support to partnership initiatives, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to processes and timelines

Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with product, research and partner teams to identify and address operational challenges, streamlining processes for efficient management

  • Optimize the partnership lifecycle: sourcing, inbound tracking, contracts, cross-functional approvals, delivery, and feedback loops

  • Design scalable systems and processes that enable the team to grow impact efficiently

  • Build dashboards and reporting infrastructure to track portfolio health, deal pipeline, and key success metrics

You May Be a Good Fit If You

  • Have 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, product or program management roles at high-growth tech companies, consulting/banking firms, or major platforms

  • Have exceptional analytical skills and can use data to develop strategies and solve problems

  • Demonstrate a strong bias for action—you take initiative to identify problems and opportunities, build processes from 0 to 1, and scale them thoughtfully

  • Are highly organized and thrive in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and ambiguity

  • Collaborate effectively across functions, working well with teams across Product, Research, Legal, Finance, and external partners

  • Communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and presentations

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • A builder's mindset, you're excited to leverage AI to improve and scale operational processes and are always looking for ways to work smarter

  • Background in data or product licensing

  • Track record of navigating complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations

  • A sense of humor!

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
