Anduril Industries, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer of Unmanned Aircraft Systems to step into the ALTIUS Product development cycle by supporting key program capability development. The ideal candidate has experience working closely with systems engineering and program management teams, and will be able to oversee the development and optimization of engineering development processes for Aircraft Systems, ensuring the development, test and qualification of reliable and high-quality Unmanned Aircraft Systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, robust experience in software, hardware and electrical component development & testing, and the ability to lead/ mentor a team of engineers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Systems engineering and prioritization:
    • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each.
    • Accountable for the management, architecture and technical execution of Unmanned Aircraft Systems delivering to multiple customers.
    • Producing high quality trade studies, analysis, tests, verification processes to influence product design.
    • Unblock engineering progress. This spans from RCA efforts on critical engineering issues to finding mechanisms to unblock the functional teams where stuck.
    • Recognition of internal customer needs and ability to support the objectives of the business.
    • Setup trade spaces and guide decisions around “how the system comes together”.
    • De-risk technical objectives and manage team prioritization.
    • Identify “what is missing” or “what is important but not being managed”.
    • Accountable for the shared technical output of the team.
    • Requirements derivation and validation.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Aircraft System Development within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering Concepts, Product Lifecycle Development and Formal Qualification Testing.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring technical teams and leading complex projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience transitioning products from low-rate to full-rate production.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and certifications relevant to Unmanned Aircraft Systems Development & Manufacturing.
US Salary Range
$130,900$196,350 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
