Anduril is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Sr. Director of Production to lead our aircraft manufacturing organization that is directly related to the recent CCA announcement (https://breakingdefense.com/2024/04/air-force-picks-anduril-general-atomics-for-next-round-of-cca-work/). Our goal is to fundamentally redefine the way future peer to peer conflicts are fought by developing next generation collaborative combat aircraft and this role will be an integral part of that successful change. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading the design and start-up of aircraft manufacturing processes and facilities, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Build and oversee the operations, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain teams responsible for aircraft production at Anduril.
  • Responsible for taking aircraft production at Anduril from zero to one on an extremely aggressive timeline.
  • Oversee the development and execution from production of the first prototype to the design and construction of the production facility to full rate production.
  • Develop and implement production plans and schedules to ensure the timely execution of all production program deliverables in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications as required by the program.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a broad network of suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and program management, to ensure alignment and execution of production goals.
  • Own the customer relationship as it relates to the production of aircraft.
  • Develop and manage the production budget, including staffing, capital expenditures, labor costs, and inventory management.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in aircraft manufacturing, including leadership roles in operations, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling products from prototype to full rate production systems.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory requirements as it relates to the manufacturing process and production of aircraft.
  • Experience leading the design and start-up of aircraft manufacturing processes or facilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally, including at a deeply technical level, in an unstructured environment; startup experience preferred.
  • Strong outcome orientation with the ability to drive initiatives from inception to implementation and adoption. Willing and able to dive into tactical execution mode when needed to move the effort forward.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from idea conception to idea execution without assistance.
  • Moves fast, has a positive attitude and can lead people directly and via influence.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Candidate will initially split their time 50/50 between Costa Mesa, California (HQ) and Raleigh, North Carolina. Once production facility is up and running this will shift (location TBD).
US Salary Range
$228,000$300,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
