The Anduril Rocket Motor Systems (ARMS) team is on a mission to build next generation solid rocket motors for a safer, more connected world. To achieve our vision of becoming a large-volume provider of tactical rocket motors, we will develop differentiated products and services that maximize our customers’ capabilities, and we will establish and maintain a reputation of Quality and Reliability.

Anduril’s Rocket Motor Systems group is seeking a Design Engineering Manager to join our team. The Rocket Motor Systems group designs, develops, and manufactures next-generation solid rocket motors for defense and space applications at Anduril.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead a very small group of engineers with a common goal of increasing workflow efficiency at the McHenry site.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among like-minded engineers.
  • Attend kick-off meetings and meetings with customers or relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with your team and lead major projects from cradle to grave.
  • Delegate portions of engineering projects to relevant team members.
  • Present and own project progression at Rocket Motor Systems leadership meetings.
  • Peer review project designs and give constructive criticism when necessary.
  • Coordinate with parties across the Rocket Motor Systems group to understand at a fundamental level what testing and hardware growth would like to be made in the coming year(s).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate and delegate work efficiently.
  • 5+ years minimum experience designing mechanical hardware or leading a group of engineers.
  • CAD model and drawing generation experience.
  • Familiar with basic machine shop tools.
  • U.S. Person Status is required as this position needs to access controlled data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree (masters or doctorate) in engineering or engineering management.
  • Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Expertise in engineering tool development in Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, and/or Python.
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD.
  • Design for manufacturing and production experience.
  • Familiar with common and advanced machining operations on manual and CNC machines.

US Salary Range
$106,000$160,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in all offers; and are considered part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
