Description:
We are actively seeking a Power and Microelectronics Test Engineer Lead to manage and enhance our laboratory operations focused on power electronics and microelectronics testing and assembly. This position requires a hands-on leader who excels in a technical lab setting, skilled in precision soldering, utilizing advanced test equipment, and driving automation initiatives to optimize testing procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence, mentor lab technicians, and implement best practices in handling delicate electronics.
This role will report to the VP of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Engineer responsible for developing test programs and design of hardware on Automated Testing Equipment (ATE ) for product bring up, characterization and eventual mass production testing of very high-performance semiconductor devices.
- Develop test plans and support various phases of manufacturing including product bring up, reliability testing, characterization, production releases and failure analysis.
- Should be fully capable of optimally utilizing all ATE resources for providing a low cost of test (CoT) without compromising on outgoing product quality.
- Work closely with the design engineers on the first silicon debug, device characterization, test program brings up and production release activities.
- Involve on test program hand off, production release, yield improvement and test time reduction.
- Responsible for all phases of product test development and should plan/track schedule to reduce time to market.
- Proven experience managing a technical lab environment, including maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Plan and maintain lab facilities for optimal efficiency – championing security and quality.
- Experience in automating test procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy in a lab setting. Familiarity with programming test sequences using software tools like LabVIEW, VISA protocol, Python/MATLAB or similar is preferred.
- Proficiency in test data analysis and interpretation.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
- 3+ years of Semiconductor Test Engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of Semiconductor Design for Test (DFT) techniques.
- Mixed-Signal test engineering experience is added advantage.
- Experience/knowledge in new product development, characterization, qualification and strong analytical skills, ability to problem solve and debug systems, circuits, and devices.
- Experienced in product coordination, yield improvement & test time reduction.
- Hands-on experience with production & characterization data collection at wafer as well as package level.
- Background in Power Electronics, Mixed-Signal testing is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
- Innovation and Improvement: A track record of implementing new techniques and technologies to improve testing processes and lab functionality.
- Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work closely with engineers and other technical staff to support research and development activities. Excellent communication skills to effectively share insights and improvements.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in documenting test results, maintaining lab records, and ensuring the integrity of sensitive electronic components.

Salary Range: $120,000-$200,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.
