Role
As an Agent Engineer at Amigo, you'll be at the forefront of transforming enterprise expertise into production-ready AI agents. Working within our Field Operations team, you'll implement the technical components of our agent architecture—from static personas and global directives to sophisticated context graphs and functional memory systems. You'll lead the BUILD stage of our implementation methodology, working closely with Agent Product Managers and domain experts to create agents that deliver reliable performance in high-stakes domains. This role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving to overcome the fundamental limitations of current AI systems.
Responsibilities
Implement the core components of our agent architecture including static personas, identity layers, background information, and global directives
Design and build context graphs that serve as "topological fields" to guide agents through complex problem spaces with appropriate density variation
Create dynamic behaviors that adapt to real-time interactions and prime the agent's latent space for specific scenarios
Integrate tools and external APIs that enable agents to perform actions in customer environments
Configure functional memory systems with properly structured user model dimensions
Develop simulation frameworks to test agent performance across thousands of scenarios
Optimize model configurations to enhance agent reliability in specific domains
Create scripts for bulk operations and agent management at scale
Collaborate with engineering and research teams to evolve agent building efficiency and work towards agent-build-agent recursion
Partner with Agent Product Managers to implement redlining boundaries and safety protocols
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in software engineering, AI implementation, or related technical roles
Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python or similar languages
Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration frameworks
Familiarity with AI agent architectures, tool integration, and simulation frameworks
Understanding of knowledge representation, context management, and memory systems for AI agents
Ability to translate complex domain expertise into structured AI systems
Experience collaborating with domain experts and cross-functional teams
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Passion for building trustworthy AI that solves real-world problems
