Job Title: Buyer

Job Summary: The Buyer position is an excellent growth opportunity for the right person in a fast paced technology company. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring R&D, MRO, Capital Equipment and raw materials. This role requires strong skills in purchase order (PO) management, inter-departmental coordination, and vendor communication. This position is responsible for ensuring timely material procurement, efficient communication flow, and effective supplier relationships.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in materials buying or procurement preferably within a manufacturing/industrial or start-up setting
  • Experience and/or interest in learning and working in the global battery industry
  • Demonstrated self-starter with attention to detail, expertise in PO management, supply coordination and follow-up
  • Exceptional communication skills across departments and with external vendors
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands and willingness to take on an assortment of tasks
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite for analysis
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
  • A strong interest in building a career in Supply Chain and/or supplier relationship management
  • Inventory management and cost reduction experience preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of Purchase Orders (POs): approval, creation, tracking, expediting, revisions, and receiving materials and/or services while keeping requisitioners informed of status
  • Ensure clear and proactive communication with vendors and internal stakeholders to confirm order details, lead times, and delivery expectations
  • Supplier management including supplier performance (score cards), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARS), and negotiations
  • Support R&D, engineering and manufacturing to determine best sources
  • Work with supply base to ensure compliance of complex commercial terms and agreements
  • Analyze supplier data and identify areas of opportunity for supply chain optimization
  • Assisting in roll out of new processes and policies for Supply Chain
  • Work with Head of Supply Chain on development of Sourcing Strategies
  • Assist in management of inbound and outbound materials
