Job Summary: Alsym Energy is looking for a self-driven and motivated manufacturing manager who is excited by the challenges of bringing innovative products to market. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all manufacturing and will work closely with our engineering teams to deliver the expected quantity of high quality products with demanding performance requirements. This position will be excellent for a manufacturing leader who is seeking an exciting field to work in with a promise of career growth. In this position, the candidate will be in charge of all our manufacturing output, and associated processes (purchasing, scheduling, etc.)..
Key Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 8 years of management experience a high-tech manufacturing environment
- Significant experience with chemical manufacturing processes & handling is required
- Experience in scaling up manufacturing operations from lab scale to commercialization with an emphasis on chemical processing
- Thorough knowledge of Production Planning, Materials Management, Inventory Management, Quality Control, MRP/ERP, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Bills of Materials, Routings, Shop Floor Control
- Experience selecting and implementing ERP systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment maintenance, design, and layout
- Strong understanding of FAT/SAT of manufacturing equipment
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of prototype manufacturing equipment
- Demonstrated Team Building, Team Leading, and Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow our manufacturing infrastructure and processes
- Run the internal prototyping line for active materials, coatings and cells
- Lead and execute production planning and procurement activities
- Hire and manage production and operation teams (machinists, technicians, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers)
- Develop and educate team on methodical approaches to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve production issues
- Continuously improve manufacturing processes through use of manufacturing principles and productivity measurements with evaluating, re-organizing, implementation new process techniques, equipment, and organizational structure
- Manage and contribute to equipment maintenance, design, installation, and validation of custom manufacturing equipment
- Develop equipment specifications for lab and commercial manufacturing lines
- Redesign floor layouts to optimizes workflow efficiency
- Lead design reviews for equipment and fixtures in development
- Key participant in cross functional teams to evaluate the manufacturability of prototype designs
- Ensure that the facility is fully operational with all utilities functioning properly
- Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing
