Job Summary: : Alsym Energy is looking for a self-driven and motivated technician with a passion to drive innovation in the field of energy storage solutions. As a cell test technician, the candidate will have an opportunity to own and run the cell testing process. The Cell Test technician will work closely with a team of engineers, scientists, and other technicians to run quality control tests on incoming cells, start tests, and perform maintenance on testers. Candidates will need to have an exceptional attention to detail, along with rigorous documentation practices. A successful candidate will be part of the next stage of growth of Alsym’s testing organization.

This is in sharp contrast to currently dominant lithium-ion batteries that are highly flammable and toxic resulting in significant safety incidents.

Key Qualifications:

• At least 2 years industry experience in a battery test lab
• Familiarity with battery test procedures (Maccor, Arbin or Neware)
• Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent Attention to detail and good mechanical skills
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and basic electrical tools (multimeter, soldering iron etc.)
• Ability to lift 40lbs

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Receive cells from internal customers, perform QC screening and start tests
• Supervise status of cells tests and keep requestors informed of the testing status
• Communicate with cell builders to understand scope of testing required
• Coordinate with cell builders and the rest of the test team to establish priorities within the test room
• Troubleshoot hardware issues
• Small scale assembly of materials such as cabling or thermocouples
• Handle shipping and receiving of cells and other test-related equipment through courier
• Work towards writing test procedures alongside engineers
